In the Saints game, we're down 34 to 10 btw, they are doing things much like the Falcons did. Short passes w run after catch except Brees is way better than Ryan. Then ya gotta look at Tannehill fumbling (the ball was knocked out from behind after he had gained 6 or 7 yards) He's getting pressured heavily. We can't stop their passing game for spit! Nolan Carroll is bad. BAD! Unless he is playing hurt.........

But it's only one game. We still have a young QB who will eventually take better care of the ball. Next draft thhey better put Ireland in a shipping crate bound for Borneo, then draft some great offensive linemen. We sure could have used one or two THIS YEAR!

btw I haven't heard anything about Vonta Leach. If he signs with us it will boost our offense considerably.

Yesterday, during an appearance on ESPN's NFL32, Chris Mortensen said Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has created the most "buzz" this offseason. Can he back it up when the play starts?

As the NFL offseason continues to drag on, rumors and speculation rule the day. From possible free agent signings (Vonta Leach?) to potential contract disputes (Rehsad Jones?) to roster overhaul (Mike Wallace, Dannell Ellerbe, Brent Grimes, etc.), a lot of things around the Miami Dolphins have created buzz this offseason. According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, no quarterback in the league has generated more buzz than Ryan Tannehill.

Appearing on ESPN's NFL32, Mortensen points to the praise coming from the Miami receivers about Tannehill's downfield accuracy and how quickly he is getting rid of the ball.

Tannehill threw for a franchise rookie record 3,294 yards last year, with 12 touchdowns. However, he also was picked off 13 times, with a 58.3% completion rate. Those numbers have to improve for Tannehill, if the Dolphins are going to succeed with all of their new weapons.

Today ESPN's Ron Jaworski backed up Mortensen's observations after watching Tannehill's game tape from last year. According to Jaws, Tannehill "showed a lot of positive traits" in 2012, despite the lack of receiving weapons around him. Tannehill displayed an ability to "subtly move within the pocket to avoid pressure."

In just his first year in the league, "Tannehill was very good at throwing with bodies around him," what Jaws calls "a muddied pocket." He continued, describing the subtle movements and dealing with a crowded pocket as "advanced NFL quarterbacking."

Jaws did point to the Miami quarterback's third down performance last season as an area that must be improved. Tannehill had "the worst rating od all starting quarterbacks, including seven of his 13 interceptions" on third down.

The Dolphins are expecting big strides forward from Tannehill, who they selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2012 Draft. He became the Dolphins' first rookie quarterback to start opening day, and led the team throughout the season, only missing a portion of one game due to injury.

The Dolphins added several receiving threats to the roster this year, including Wallace, Brandon Gibson, and tight end Dustin Keller. The team also re-signed last year's leading receiver Brian Hartline, and are looking to third year receiver Armon Binns to add something to the offense as well.

Miami opens the preseason in just over a month, playing the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame Game.

Yeah I wasn't exactly smitten with the pick either.  But that's our Jeffy. I hope this guy finds a good PED dealer and hits the weights hard to put some muscle on. He's gonna need it.

Since you made the above post we finally ended the phone tag thing. We talked and after much deliberation I decided to play ff again. I've got a lot of reading to do though. After not playing ANY ff for 2 years a lot has changed and especially this offseason there has been a lot of player/FA activity as well. See ya soon.

When I read a Dolphin article at the Sun Sentinel I can post a comment if I feel so inclined.
At the Miami Herald I can't b/c I am not a member of facebook. i understand why they had to do it though.

So I may re-join and try to set my prefs so that i stay under the radar as much as possible.  I'll just keep my posts strictly about the Dolphins and Canes.

There IS one column/blog at the Herald that isn't facebook and if you clik on this link you'll see why facebook was needed

http://miamiherald.typepad.com/umiami/2013/06/five-more-summer-arrivals-for-canes-15-in-total-five-still-out.html

Don't need to read the article just scroll down to the comments and check this idiot Gator fan out . He spams every Cane article at the WPB Post, the Sun Sentinel & The Herald. Under so many fake names. Guy must be mentally ill or something. Kind of like Ray-ray.

2004 eh..... OK so you WERE a member when Verm had his heart trouble. No doubt about it.

Well I guess Verms disappearance will just remain a mystery. I hope he just pops in here one day with an explanation as to why he was AWOL - vanished w/o a trace.

I heard Rootboy Slim - he's pretty much off the radar screen too, bought himself a underground missile silo, built a bomb shelter style home in it and has been holed up during the Obama administrations reign. Maybe Verm didn't do anything that radical but maybe he is so vehemently opposed to a democrat in the White House, and a knee grow at that, he just became anti-social.

It may have occurred before you joined the worldcrossing herald site(verms miami herald refugee site).

I started posting there a few months after buying my first computer which was several days after the September 11 Terrorist plane attacks on the NY World Trade Center. I first started posting at the Herald site for a couple months then several days after New Years & the 20 - 3 playoff loss to the Ravens they changed their message board software which totally steamed everyone. There was revolution in the air! Then came the exodus. I wound up following a link that led to WC. WC had a format that closely mirrored that of the Miami Herald. In those days I was an unknown poster. I'd post but I largely got ignored.

When did you start posting at verms Chuck? 2009?

OK I'll keep my phone handy.

An "Old dayer?" You mean "all dayer?" Yeah thats gotta be it........ ;D

NFL Ticket? Why? Money issues? I know things are really tight these days. Things are tough. Or is it b/c you have become so displeased with Ireland and some of his draft habits. btw i still think Dion Jordan was a huge ****. Possibly a **** that shouldn't have been made seeing as how we had such blatant needs at defensive backfield, and offensive line. If DJ turns out to be a force JI looks like a genius but if he isn't a force, well.........  what then? Hell be considered a much bigger bust than even Eric Kumerow or Billy Milner, both Shula picks. This is a Cybil Sheppard pick

Chuck, gimme a holler on the telly phune I have a question pertaining to Heman that is better off NOT discussed on the net. You should have my # If not I'll email it to ye.
