Dolphins unlikely to re-sign Reggie Bush?

The Reggie Bush show in Miami might soon draw to a close.

By Keith Beebe on Jan 29, 10:00

Despite Bush's comments that he'd like to return to the Dolphins in 2013 because the team has "unfinished business," reports indicate that Miami is ready to move on without No. 22 in its backfield. CBSSports' Jason La Canfora (who continues to look more and more like Chaz Bono, no?) last week wrote that it's "highly unlikely" Bush will remain in Miami, and that his "ability to make explosive plays and contribute on special teams will lead to a nice (free agent) market forming for him."

NFL.com's Chris Wesseling expanded on La Canfora's original statement.

"While the Dolphins are expected to make Bush a cursory 'team-friendly' offer, the smart money is on the versatile back signing a short-term deal with a contender," Wesseling wrote. "Turning 28 in March, Bush is a long shot for a final mega contract even after averaging more than 1,000 rushing yards in two seasons with the Dolphins."

The main suitors for Bush this offseason? Wesseling lists the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals as the two teams most interested in acquiring a back with Bush's skill set.

As it stands, the clock is about to strike midnight on Bush's time with the Dolphins--a relationship that began, fittingly, with a deal brokered after midnight 18 months ago.
Keep up the good work Matt Moore!

I'm not so sure this is such a good idea.

Yeah right, Reggie Bush is a guy who makes big plays and he certainly has to go!

We don't want those guys, we want the likes of Daniel (I broke it again) Thomas, who plays
only a few games a season and Lamar Miller, who Ireland thinks is his diamond in the rough.

Go ahead and let him go Jeff, besides, why did you sign him anyways? He's a guy who makes
BIG plays, and certainly there is no room on this team for that, because it kinda makes the
"rebuilding" theme we've had for the last 15 years suffer setbacks.

Why we didn't use him on punt returns is still a mystery to me. I mean here's a team that is having nothing BUT trouble putting points on the board and our most explosive guy needs to get the ball in space more than he does and what better place to do that than on punt returns. And now they are thinking that b/c he jigs and hops a little after taking the handoff and lost a crucial fumble at seasons end that we no longer need his services. Preposterous!

If he wasn't the starting RB, he probably would have been the Punt Returner.

I always questioned why they let Bess return punts.

Yeah I agree with you on Bess. As a punt returner he really didn't show much. Frequently when bess caught a pass he would look for a place to get to the ground w/o getting blasted by a LB or Dback. No RAC that way. So why have him return punts. The only reason I can see is he held on to the ball and rarely fumbled.

My favorite non sports show comes on on Sunday night. Finding Bigfoot. Too bad the Dolphins couldn't sign a bigfoot to play on one of our lines.  ;D
