Channing Crowder on Chad Henne: 'I don't like the guy'
Posted by Joe Rose on September 21, 2011 10:27 AM[/i]
Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder joined us on the show on Wednesday morning. Some highlights:

Through two games, it's hard to find anybody on either side of the ball that's playing well right now. "They're punting the hell out of it (Laughter)."

It's never good when Brandon Fields is your best player, or one of your best players, kicking the ball away: "And the defense isn't stopping too many people, either."

Dead last, two games: "The defense is last?"

Dead last in the NFL. They've given up almost 1,000 yards in two games, a little over 30 points a game: "Well, down here, we like to look at the silver lining. I figured that out the last two weeks in the media, the silver lining of every game. I guess the sliver lining is that they have nowhere to go but up."

One takeaway in two games. What is your thought on that? "Even last year, No. 6 defense, we didn't have a lot of turnovers. If we had had turnovers last season, we would have been top two or three."

I know you've talked to guys about Jason Taylor going off in the locker room a little bit. Does this get back to the team not knowing how to win? "Last time I seen J.T. go crazy was, was we played Cleveland [in 2005 in a game the Dolphins trailed 12-0 at halftime and lost 22-0]. J.T. comes in and goes crazy. He says, 'If you don't want to play football, quit. I'll pay the rest of your salary out of my pocket. He told everybody on the team that.'"

Now, that's when you know you're mad: "That's how he feels. When you're getting beat, and, you know, guys are trying their hardest and just getting beat on jump balls--if Andre Johnson had just [Randy] Moss'ed Nolan Carroll, it would have been better than a broken coverage in the NFL. This is your job. How do you destroy coverages like that? It's just so discouraging to see guys mentally mess up, physically not be there emotionally. We were talking about it off air, emotionally not be there. They're running plays, it seems like they're at practice, on Sundays."

Everybody loves you on the radio. Are you liking it as much as you seem like you're liking it? "I love it. I love it. I've gotten more positive feedback on the radio than football to be honest with you."

You've been pretty critical of some things. Any feedback on that? A lot of guys, the biggest problem they have with guys who get out of playing football is that nobody wants to be critical of guys you played with. "Oh yeah, you know this. People call me the Tiki Barber of South Florida."

I haven't heard that one! "On my Twitter, Tiki Barber, I retired and now I'm bashing Henne. I'm not bashing Henne. You know this, Joe. You did the same thing I did, came out of football with your friends still on the team, having to have an unprejudiced eye toward it. I don't like Henne. I'm not a fan of Henne and people kill me and talk about how you're bashing your team. Look at the numbers. I'm just being a smart football guy. I'm not talking about friends or enemies. I just don't like the guy, and I get criticized for it, but that's part of media."

What do you see as the biggest problems, from general manager to coach and on down? "All the moves they made, all the changes the genius Jeff Ireland, quote-unquote genius, that he's done... they haven't showed it."
Keep up the good work Matt Moore!

Riv and I were talking about Crowder last night on the phone. I was saying how much I disliked him but when he was out injured our defense wasn't as good. He wasn't a cover guy(so they said) but he stopped the run well. Just a collosal jerk, a loose cannon well just a typical Gator football player. ;)

We were wondering which team he ended up with after he was terminated here. I said I thought he was a Houston texan b/c I had read some ink on that. Nope..... He wouldn't back off on his salary demands and he just isn't THAT GOOD...... So he's doing what he does best on the radio, talking trash. So he doesn't like henne........... Well the line forms to the right Canning Coward.
Keep up the good work Matt Moore!
